Ryan Downe

Ryan Downe is an American musician and audio engineer. His debut album The Hypocrite was released in 1996 by Elton John's Rocket Records label. Downe opened for The Who[1] and for Iggy Pop[2] during their 1997 tours. Later he and his guitarist Johannes Luley opened Freudenhaus Recording Studio in San Francisco. It was during this time that Ryan is credited with co-engineering and playing/singing on the Grammy nominated album Arepa 3000 by Los Amigos Invisibles.

Downe and Luley later went on to form Moth Vellum a progressive rock band.

From May 2002, he worked for Linden Lab, the creators of Second Life in a variety of roles from content, project management, and chief of staff.[3] In November 2009, he left Linden Lab with founder Philip Rosedale to work on a company called Love Machine Inc.[4]
